Bio
I am a Civil Engineer from Italy, with a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino. Towards the end of my studies I developed a growing interest in research, and in particular in energy geostructures: the idea that what we build underground can do more than carry loads.
What motivates me is sustainability in the construction sector. Infrastructure is built to last for decades, and I believe it should be designed to give something back, helping to make our energy systems cleaner and more efficient. My PhD within the GENIUS network is my opportunity to pursue this idea, applying it to tunnels.
I am a curious person: I like to understand how things work before trying to solve them, and I enjoy breaking complex problems down into smaller, manageable steps. I believe good research is a collective effort, so I value teamwork, open discussion and learning from people with different backgrounds and perspectives, which is exactly what an international network like GENIUS offers. I see these three years as a chance to grow not only as an engineer, but also as a person.
